Rolling noise was addressed through a redesigned tread pattern featuring diagonally cut tread blocks and revised central groove geometry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mileage improvement \u2014 15% over the evo 3, according to Hankook&#8217;s press release \u2014 comes from a larger contact patch area enabled by the softer winter rubber compound. Hankook states this reduces wear rates while maintaining the grip characteristics needed in cold conditions. Snow braking and traction are handled by an updated tread geometry that the company states better interlocks with snow surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;With the new Winter i*cept evo 4, Hankook continues the successful history of its winter tyre family,&#8221; said Jongho Park, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe. &#8220;The new model combines safe driving characteristics with maximum comfort. The evo 4&#8217;s stated improvements in rolling resistance and noise bring it closer to the efficiency claims of Michelin Alpin 7 and Continental WinterContact TS 870 P, which currently set the benchmark for combined wet grip and rolling resistance in the premium winter category. Independent test data for the evo 4 is not yet available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Winter i*cept evo 4 is aimed at drivers of compact to large cars and SUVs seeking a winter tyre with improved longevity. The 15% mileage claim \u2014 if it holds up in independent testing \u2014 would be a meaningful step for a segment where running costs matter. Hankook has not announced retail pricing; the tyre is expected to be available ahead of the 2026\u201327 winter season.
